Biography
Faustin Anoha is a musician, choir director, composer and producer, born and based in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.
Trained in piano and choral conducting, he founded Redemptoris Côte d'Ivoire, a choir whose motto, “Make me your Disciple”, sums up its spirit: music that is carefully written and within reach of choirs of every kind.
His work as a composer starts from a simple observation. Choirs in French-speaking Africa sing a great deal, yet have few scores written for them. So he writes for the voices he conducts, in four-part mixed-choir writing that asks for real work without requiring a professional ensemble.
“Messe du Christ, Roi de l'univers”, his first published Mass setting, opens a catalogue that will continue with “Mélodies Révélées”, a collection of his songs.
He publishes under the Anoh'Art label in Abidjan.
